Nirmal David - Senior Animator, Lucas Film Animation
After completing his Bachelors in Fine Arts from Baroda, Nirmal moved to Chennai where he worked for M.U.V Technologies as an animator/art director, primarily developing animated television series. Soon after, he joined Rhythm and Hues (India) and worked as an Animation Lead and Animator for nearly 7 years. At Rhythm and Hues, he worked on films such as the Academy Award Winner – ‘Golden Compass’, Alvin and the Chipmunks Part 1 & 2 and Mummy 3.Nirmal currently resides in Singapore, working as a Senior Animator at Lucas Film Animation.
Manish Kumar - Animator, DreamWorks Animation India UnitManish has been in the Visual Media Industry for over 11 years playing roles of an Animator to Team and Sequence Lead. He worked atTata Elxsi asa Sr. Animator on the Yash Raj/Walt Disney feature – Roadside Romeo.
Manish currently stays in Bangalore where he has been working with DreamWorks Animation’s India Unit since March 2008. He has worked on Madagascar and Shrek franchises like Merry Madagascar, Scared Shrekless, Madly Valentine (yet to be released), Shrek 4 DVD bonus material, the Oscar nominated feature ‘Puss In Boots’ and Madagascar 3. He is currently working on character development for an upcoming feature film based on the Penguins from the Madagascar movies.
Other than great animation, things that give Manish an adrenalin rush includes, running marathons, crunching at the gym, cycling and the aroma of gooodfooood!
Anand Baid- Animator, DreamWorks Animation India Unit
He currently works as a Senior Animator at DreamWorks Animation’s India Unit and has worked on Madagascar and Shrek franchises like Merry Madagascar, Scared Shrekless, Madly Valentine, Shrek 4 DVD bonus material, Puss In Boots – The Three Diablos and as additional animator on Madagascar 3. His latest project had him supervise animation on the ‘How to Train your Dragon’ television series, currently being aired on Cartoon Network.
Anand has over 12 years of industry experience. While at Tata Elxsi’s animation division, he worked on character development in the Walt Disney – Yash Raj Films animated feature ‘Roadside Romeo’. Parallel to working on this feature full-time, Anand studied and graduated from AnimationMentor in 2007.
He has collaborated and conducted various animation related events in India like, Asifa ‘International Animation Day’, Siggraph Bangalore Chapter, CG Tantrameetups; apart from giving lectures at some of the animation schools in India.
Anand is also the founder and director of Native Puppets.
Vaibhav Kumaresh - Founder, Creative Director of Vaibhav Studios
Vaibhav Kumaresh is an animation filmmaker and is the Founder, Creative Director of Vaibhav Studios, Mumbai. The studio has created some of India’s favorite animated content including the Amaron Battery TV commercials, Buladi’s AIDS awareness campaign, Sagar Cement commercials and the very popular Simpoo (the grumpy Sardaar math teacher) on Channel [V].
A Fine Arts graduate, Vaibhav studied animation filmmaking at the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad. Vaibhav is an active committee member and founder member of TASI: The Animation Society of India
He also teaches animation and is a visiting faculty at various animation schools across India. A multi-talented personality, Vaibhav takes keen interest in Cricket, Frisbee, basketball, swimming, music, spending time with family and (whadayaknow..) fancy dress!
Vaibhav is currently a guest mentor at Native Puppets.
Prashanth Cavale - Animator, DreamWorks Animation India Unit
Prashanth is a Mechanical Engineer turned Character Animator. He has been working with DreamWorks Animation’s India Unit for over three years now and has worked on Madagascar 3, Puss in Boots – The 3 Diablo’s, Madly Madagascar, Shrek Yule log (DVD special), Donkey Christmas Shrektacular (DVD special) and Scared Shrekless. He’s currently a part of the Character Development team on an upcoming DreamWorks feature.
Prashanth also takes avid interest in composing music on his iPad and has a special liking towards cracking mind-numbing puzzles.
Rajesh PK - Animator, DreamWorks Animation India Unit
Rajesh has worked an animator on DreamWorks Movies and Short Films such as The Croods, Merry Madagascar, Scared Shrekless, Madly Valentine, Shrek 4 DVD bonus material, Puss In Boots – The Three Diablos and Madagascar 3.
He holds a Diploma in Fine Arts from Geethanjali School of Arts, with a major in Drawing and Painting. Born and brought up in the suburbs of Kannur (Kerela), Rajesh always knew his true calling was to be an artist and draws his inspiration from nature and its vibrant colors.
His hobbies include outdoor sketching, travelling, painting and photography.
Jitendra Patel - Creative Director, Digikirti studios
During the 11 years of his association as Animation Supervisor with Tata Elxsi, he has worked on severalfeature filmsincluding One Knight With The King, Ghost Rider, Dhoom 2, Road Side Romeo, Aparichit, Boys and many TV series and commercials.
Having over 25 years of experience in animation, he has been a long-standing mentor and guide to many of the current talents in the Indian animation industry. His long and enriching journey covers direction, supervision, training, 3D, 2D and puppet animation, character designing, concept development, story-development and storyboarding. He is now creative director – founder at Digikirti studios and his hobbies include drama and sketching.
Krishnamoorthy YD - Animation Supervisor, Xentrix Studios
Krishnamoorthy is currently working as an Animation Supervisor at Xentrix Animation Studios, Bangalore. He worked earlier at the DreamWorks Dedicated Unit for a couple of years as a character animator on Scared Shrekless, Donkey Christmas Special, Madly Valentine (Madagascar Valentine Special) and the Puss In Boots DVD short.
Prior to this, he worked atPrana Studios on projects such as Fight club (a Blur Studio project), Boz the bear, Hoodwinked movie (Lighting), Tinker Bell (Walt Disney); Unstable Fables: 3 Pigs and a Baby, Tortoise v/s Hare, Goldilocks & The Three Bears among other projects. He spends his free time on painting, sculpting, sketching and watching movies.
